My first post

We've all heard of iSnack 2.0 and USB 2.0 but my first posting is about Web 2.0.  I am currently studying the Diploma of Library/Information Studies and am working two casual jobs - one at Curtin University Library and of course the City of Cockburn Libraries.

I have had to create my own blog for an assignment last semester and we have touched on Web 2.0 technologies in class such as podcasts, wikis, blogs, twitter and facebook and I have set up my own del.i.cious account with several of my favourite websites.  I have had a lot of experience in using Facebook and sometimes find myself lost in it for a good hour or two.  It can be very addictive and I have to check it at least once a day to read everyone's statuses.

I'm hoping to learn more about Web 2.0 through this training course and hoping to strengthen my existing knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies.  I think it is a great idea for staff to be aware of the current technologies being used in libraries.

  3. You might be a little bored by this course, as it seems you've already done everything we're going to be learning.

Oh well, maybe you could help some of us :)

  5. All you needed was another training course on top of your two jobs and study. Hopefully it's not too much.
